LOCAL EVENTSTues 10th Feb Family Film night Doors open 5.30pm at Lockleaze Primary School, Brangwyn Grove. Film approx 6.30 – 8.15pm Admission and Meal* (cost includes hot meal and vegetarian alternative provided by Eden Market): Adults (over 18) £2, Children (2 and over) £1, Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) £5. Sat 13th Feb FREE Animation workshop 2.30 - 4.30pm at the Cameron Centre, all welcome (children must come with a parent or guardian) followed by animation film screening 5pm.
Mon 15th Feb FREE Cookery workshop 1 – 3pm Children welcome with parent or guardian. Just bring the ingredients on our list for that day (check the Cameron Centre noticeboard or visit www.lockleazeneighbourhoodtrust.co.uk - list will be put up 9th Feb) and what you make you take. Enjoy cooking together and have something to eat together too!
Mon 15th – Fri 19th Feb Half Term Playscheme A week of FUN and games for ages 4 – 12 years old. 9 – 5pm Half day sessions available, £14.50 whole day. Bouncy castle and face painting, crafts, cooking activities, trips to the park, sports, competitions and lots, lots more. Building the Bridge Exhibition – an exciting and innovative exhibition is being launched in Bristol to build understanding between the city’s Muslims and the wider community. The project, which is open to the public, celebrates ‘ordinary Muslims living in Bristol’ is being launched at Bristol Central Library on Monday 15th Feb. It then moves to Easton Community centre on 1st March where it will be for at least two weeks. With a central aim to dispel negative stereotypes so often imposed on Muslim communities, the exhibition will display a series of 12 beautiful portraits featuring local people accompanied by moving interviews, which offer an insight into what being Muslim and being Bristolian means to them. Sat 20th Feb Building Bridges event for African and Caribbean Elders (60 or over) living in Bristol to meet other elders and make new friends. Dancing, healthy eating, story telling and networking at 2 – 8pm at Upper Horfield Community Trust, Eden Grove. Joint Police and Councillors surgery for Lockleaze area at the Cameron Centre 2- 4pm on the first Saturday of every month – this month 6th Feb in front office of Centre.
